Coming from a culture and tradition that expected a given path, my life hasn't turned out at all like I thought it would. My parents should have seen it coming when I repeatedly refused to come in for dinner because I wasn't finished exploring the imaginations of a creative, inquisitive mind and insatiable desire to play. I blame my mother really. As a stay-at-home mom with a degree in fine art and a talented interior designer, rather than sit me in front of the TV so she could spend time in other pursuits, she continuously challenged me to think and create, from arts & crafts and building intricate models, to studying music, architecture and history, with long family trips exploring different parts of the US. Life was good back then and it set the tenor for years to come. Decades later things haven’t changed much - I still have a strong desire to challenge myself to learn as much as possible, and I still love exploring the world around me, albeit now with a passport. Life is just too short to sit on the sidelines when there’s so much out there and so little time!
Over the past 30+ years I have been intimately involved from concept through production with just about any and every kind of print or digital project possible. I have also been incredibly blessed along the way to work with people who are smarter and more talented than me, and while that makes me experienced and knowledgeable, what makes me a more valuable asset and business partner is in my why. My career path has been a series of conscious choices to do things I like and believe in, surrounded by people I enjoy working with and who inspire me. I have worked in agencies, in-house marketing and creative departments, and as a consultant. Years ago my dad taught me that anything worth doing is worth doing well, so whether it’s strategic, creative or production, when I make the decision to be part of something I’m all in!
